First Brownie Meeting
Today was our first Brownie meeting. I ended up with two each of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. They were a great group of girls and were so beautifully behaved. I guess I'll have a second meeting with them. :) I also had two great assistants - Abigail (my 7th grade Cadette) and Madeleine (my 11th grade Senior); couldn't do it without both of them.
We were able to complete two requirements for Around the World and two requirements for Making Music. We should be able to finish one (if not both) of these Try-Its at our next meeting in January.
Since four of the girls had never been Brownies before, we learned some Girl Scout traditions like the GS Promise, Handshake and Friendship Circle. As part of our Making Music Try-It we learned two GS songs - Make New Friends and Brownie Smile Song. All left with smiles on their faces.

It sounds like you have a great group, Renee. I liked Brownies so much - as a leader and even as a kid.
Renee, Have fun!
Grace was a Rainbow, a Brownie and then a Guide and is now a helper at the Rainbows unit. She has come full circle. It was such a blessing to her.
I LOVE Brownies! It was the best time for me- and later me as a leader as well.
Oh, Renee, I giggled at your post. I was a co-leader when my dd was in first grade. My mom was my Brownie leader when I was little.
There are some really terrific Brownie leader support groups out there on yahoo. :) vbg
We've never done the Girl Scout thing so I have no idea what all is involved, but it sounds like FUN!
