I was really looking forward to this book but turned out I didn't enjoy it that much. I found it hard to follow (but that's not uncommon for me) trying to keep track of the characters (esp who was white or black - which was important to the story); it would probably be easier to follow in a movie.
I was also expecting it to be more about family and relationships. From the cover info, I knew that Isaac would uncover secrets... but I expected them to be the usual sort of secrets (mom was involved with a married man, dad was some important white guy in town, etc) - they were very different and not really interesting to me.
