The Hope of Refuge

Raised in foster care and now the widowed mother of a little girl, Cara Moore struggles against poverty, fear, and a relentless stalker. While Ephraim is trying to do what he believes is right, will he be shunned and lose everything–including the guarded single mother who simply longs for a better life?

My Review:
Although I have only read a few works of Amish fiction, I am definitely a new fan of Cindy Woodsmall after reading The Hope of Refuge.
This book dealt with so much more than the typical story of a member of the Amish community leaving for the outside world. Not only did I learn bits of the way Amish communities operate but also some of the tenets of their faith; and these were blended seamlessly with stories of truth withheld, looking for truth, complicated relationships and of course love stories. I look forward to reading more works by Cindy Woodsmall.
