Monday and Tuesday

On Monday Theresa and I had American Heritage Girls; it's only our second meeting of the new year and already I am loving all the new families that have joined us. A mom came to me soon after the meeting had started and asked if I knew who had a gold van. I replied that I had a tan van and we confirmed we were talking about the same van. She then went on to tell me how her young school-age son had opened his door too fast and too far and her red paint was now on the door of my tan van. My response was to tell her not to worry about it, things happen, it's only a car. I also told her about how my eldest dd did the same to a Lexus in a parking lot and the owner showed her the same mercy. M. and I went out to look at it and it really was quite minimal. At some point she talked to her dh (who is a handy guy in addition to being an engineer) and he came by and got all the paint off my door and looking better than it was before the door opening. I am so thankful for honest families in our troop and look forward to another wonderful year with AHG.

Tuesday was a busy day. The day started with commissary shopping, then schoolwork, and then a routine checkup for Theresa. She was a real trooper about getting two shots (tetanus booster and the one for meningitis). We treated ourselves to Brusters on the way home - I had Pumpkin Pecan, mmmmmm, mmmmmmmm. Then I also worked on American Heritage paperwork; there's a lot to organize with over 30 girls. Then that night the girls had rehearsal for Alice - they are having such fun in the role of Cook's Assistants. I'm so thankful that Theresa was given this opportunity and look forward to seeing her in her costume and makeup on stage.

The girls club sounds fun. Glad the van was damaged!

American Heritage Girls is like Girl Scouts only no cookies and it's overtly Christian :) And the uniforms are pretty colors - red and blue

Tara and a few other ladies began the troop a few years ago. Theresa joined last year when we moved to Alabama. This year I am the treasurer and registrar - so I'm the paperwork lady :)
