Exergen Temporal Scanner Thermometer - Review & GIVEAWAY**

I was very excited to receive the Exergen Temporal Scanner Thermometer. As a mom for over 18 years, I've used ear thermometers as well as standard digital thermometers orally and under the arm and never really liked them. The Temporal Scanner Thermometer was so easy to use; just stroke across the forehead while holding the button and voila you have an accurate reading. No concerns about getting the child to sit still for an underarm temp, no worry about is the thermometer under their tongue and no extra pain when a child is ill with an earache. I so wish the Temporal Scanner Thermometer had been available when my children were babies but it will still come in quite handy with the adults, teens and children in my home.

Temporal Scanner

When I first tested the thermometer I was getting a low reading but then I read the instructions (always important with a newly acquired product) and realized that in order to work accurately the thermometer needed to warm to the ambient room temperature since it had been in a cold UPS truck all day. I tried the thermometer on both myself and Theresa, my 11 year old daughter. It was simple and easy to use. I then decided to put the Exergen Temporal Scanner Thermometer to the test; I figured if a 10 year old boy could read and follow the instructions, any adult could do the same. I gave John the Quick Start Card; he read the directions and then easily and accurately took my temperature.

The one downside to this forehead thermometer is the packaging. It is not packed in a cardboard box but rather in a hard plastic hanging display case that required a pair of scissors and muscles of steel to open. It does come with a clear plastic cover for the probe so it can be easily stored in a drawer or cabinet without fear of being damaged. The Exergen Temporal Scanncer Thermometer comes with a fresh 9 volt battery, a Quick Start Card (with illustrations) and a booklet of instructions. Not only does the booklet explain how to use the thermometer but it also explains why a temporal artery temperature is more accurate, how the Temporal Scanner Thermometer works and explains clinical information about normal body vs. normal temporal artery temperature.

I'd love to win one of these. All we have now is a mood-ring type thing you put on the forehead. It's 30+ years old and I'm not too sure it works right. Thanks for the chance!

I always love reading your blog entries about your family. I enjoyed the entry about John taking up a new sport, gymnastics. That brings back fond memories of when my daughter was a gymnast. Good luck to John! It is a great sport! Have fun driving back and forth to the gym! LOL
