Kids Say the Darndest Things

John was on an roll this morning. Here's the conversation as he was preparing a free sample of Starbucks instant coffee.

J: How much is a cup?
M: 8 ounces
J: How much is 8 ounces?
M: a cup
J: Which cup?

Guess we need to have some summer Math lessons.

John was doing laundry and decided to read the warnings on the dryer. He then proceeded to tell me that "if we put anything flammable in the dryer, it could result in death, fire or explosion" as his eyes got very big.

and still on a roll....This conversation came up because I was talking about VBS snacks and peanut allergies.

M: everything these days is processed in a factory with peanuts
J: even me
M: even you?
J: yeah, Mom probably ate peanuts

I loved these, especially the last one--"Mom probably ate peanuts"! Peanut butter sandwiches are a survival staple around here (fortunately no-one is allergic) so that definitely goes for all my babies!

These are great. I think the peanut one is my favorite.

Ah, the mind of a child. Kids are neverending source of humor, aren't they? :-)

So, you were made in a factory with peanuts? I wonder what kind of nuts I was made with....

LOL.

Kids are so fun in what they say. I grew up in the time of Art Linkletter's "Kids say the darndest things". I think he wrote a book with that title. If you need some innocent laughs some day, see if you can find it at the library. God bless you and your kids.
