Sunday in Atlanta

Since we had gone to Mass on Saturday evening we were able to get up and going bright and early. We had breakfast and were at the zoo near opening. The Atlanta Zoo is very nice. I especially enjoyed the tiger and pandas.
Tigers are my all time favorite animal so I was thrilled to see this beautiful tigress. She was none too happy to be outside since she wanted to be with her mate. The keeper let us know that in a few hours she would be off display in hopes of a conception. I'm glad we arrived early enough for me to see my favorite.
This is a toddler panda; both he and dad were on display. Mom was off exhibit and they were keeping their fingers crossed that she was pregnant but it was too soon to know.
And these are the world famous Gardiner birds - Abigail, John and Theresa.

After the zoo we headed over to the Fernbank Museum of Natural History where I thought we got free admission but I was mistaken. The cost was rather high so we opted out. Then we headed for a puppetry museum since we knew it was on the Blue Star Museum list (which means free admission)but it was closed - not sure if that was due to it being Sunday or the holiday. We wandered through a mall for a bit, had a late lunch at Copelands and then went back to the hotel for a swim. We ended the evening with Toy Story 3 and a late dinner.
