Graduation

Once upon a time a little boy named James went off to Kindergarten at Williams Elementary in Huntsville, Alabama. It was not the plan, but a sleep deprived hormonal mom of a newborn will do anything for her little boy. It turned out to be a fantastic year. James thrived in a small classroom with an exceptional teacher.

The next year things changed and schools in VA were just not the same so James came home for the next 7 years (during those years we lived in 4 locations in 3 countries). Upon an assignment to Germany and talk of how wonderful the small school environment was, James returned to public school for 8th grade. It was adequate; unfortunately because of the small school size there were very limited opportunities for advanced students. James sat in the library with two other students doing Algebra online (and only because I pushed for this course for him).

It was then home for high school supplemented with online courses and dual enrollment classes at UAH. And on Saturday 21 June 2011 all those years of hard work paid off. James was the second student to graduate from St. Albert the Great Academy.

(and now I know why I'm the one that takes pics.. sigh)

James will be attending Mississippi State University studying Political Science. He's a member of both the Shackouls Honors College and the Griffis Learning Community. Way to go James!!
