The Power of a Positive Mom Devotional & Journal

The Power of a Positive Mom Devotional & Journal is an excellent resource for the busy mom as it doesn't necessitate a daily reading. The book consist of 52 Monday Morning Motivations which a mom could also use to start her week on Sunday or any other day that best suits her needs.

Each week's devotional includes a number of ways to connect with God through Scripture and prayer. Key Scriptures start at Genesis and go through most Bible books through to Revelation. There are quotes from a variety of individuals from St. Vincent De Paul to Robert Louis Stevenson to those unknown to me. The reflection on the scripture reading is written by the author as a source of encouragement to moms. My Thoughts gives the reader a question to ponder and space to make written notes. Examples include "Is there anything in my life right now that I am trying to hide from God?" and "Do I look to God as my provider day to day?" My Prayer provides the reader with some starting words to speak to God and then space to write their intentions. My Choices challenges the reader to act - examples include: "This week I will choose to seek God's leadership and guidance." or "This week I will choose to allow the law of kindness to rule my tongue." The author then provides a reference to a longer suggested scripture reading.

The cover drew me in; the soft pink flowers provide such a calm peaceful atmosphere to begin the week. I love the layout with the variety of ways to connect through Scripture, prayer and reflection. I was thrilled that the author included a quote from a Catholic saint - I've not had the chance to read the entire devotional so I'm not sure if there is anything in conflict with Catholic beliefs. This would make a great gift for Mother's Day or mom's birthday. A positive mom makes for a happier family.

I received a free copy of this book from Howard Books, for my honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.

I like the idea that the reader is challenged to act! What a great idea. This week I am going to work on a positive attitude and I am going to find the good in everything! (Now that will be a challenge for me!)

Blessings...
