Thursday was not your usual Thanksgiving. We were on the road about 7am for our two hour drive to the airport. Upon arriving in Rome we had McDonald's at the train station. We got settled into our apartment, went to the grocery store and had sandwiches for dinner. Happy non-traditional Thanksgiving.
Friday was a busy busy day. We flew through sites.
This is all the kids inside the Colosseum.
This is a view of the Arch of Constantine as seen from the Colosseum.
We then wandered around on Palatine Hill (included with our admission to the Colosseum). From there I got this shot:
We stopped by the Mamertine Prison where Peter and Paul were once held prisoner as well at the Pantheon. In between these two sites, we had lunch and unfortunately Theresa was not feeling well. We continued our "tour" since we hoped that she felt better after getting sick.
We went by the Trevi Fountain
and the Spanish Steps.
We then attempted to go into St Peter's (lines are typically short in the late afternoon) but because of Saturday's elevation of the Cardinals, extra folks were in town so the line was long to get through security. Then Theresa got sick so we headed back to the apartment... Theresa also left her calling card on the subway and just off the subway. Thankfully noone else was sick on vacation and Theresa was fine by morning.

OK- Renee- here is a challenge:>)
My son asked for one thing for his birthday this year- 15x15 photos of differnt places that he had traveled- framed. He put those on the wall instead of the "regular" posters....
You might think of beginning pictures of your kiddos in front of places....and doing it for college:>)
What a great way to spend THanksgiving. I hope the illness didn't last long.
