Christmas was not looking promising as James was sick in the morning, John was feeling sick and Abigail got sick the evening of 23 December but fortunately all were healthy on the 24th. We had our traditional meal of baked ziti as well as italian sausages, salad and garlic bread. Chocolate chip cookies were baked so Santa could enjoy two when stopping by our house. Although the little ones were wound up that day, they settled down quickly once they were in bed.
This is a pic of John before church showing me how he CAN wear a tie without buttoning the top button.
Christmas morning all opened stockings prior to going to Mass. We went to Our Lady Queen of the Universe (never had been there before) for 9am Mass (our church didn't have Mass until 10am and we werent' willing to wait that late). The church was small and not very crowded. I liked that we sang Agnus Dei and there were bells at the consecration.
Once home, pics were taken in front of the tree and gifts were distributed. It was a relatively calm and peaceful time. All seemed excited about their gifts. Dinner was served around 3pm - ham, pineapple dressing, cheesy potatoes, broccoli rice casserole, and fresh baked bread. Then a few hours later was the dessert extravaganza - apple pie, bits of brickle pie and pecan pie.
Theresa made sure that her bear was well dressed for the occassion:
This pose was their idea.....
James used this the next morning to make pancakes for the family

I Love John's thoughts on wearing ties. Belated birthday to John. That grill looks very useful indeed and the older girl's pose is cute.....it doesn't get any better than a well dressed bear and her girl at Christmas time.
I love the pictures! Your kids are so cute. Sounds like an awesome Christmas.
I know I'm a little late, but I still wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
