I love birds but not on my patio......

On Wednesday, I knocked down the beginnings of a bird's nest and again yesterday we knocked down the beginnings twice (one being after dinner). I even moved the bird feeder away from the house to discourage them from my front patio. Woke up this morning to find this:

Renee 0, Robin 1

I give up - there will be baby birds on my front patio. Sigh.

The year Jay was a baby, we had a Carolina Jasmine growing in some poles that were next to the front door (really looked pretty when it was in bloom) and some Mockingbirds built a nest in it. They'd dive-bomb us as we'd go in and out and I remember Joe saying that if they got our baby, he was going to get theirs. Once the babies were gone, we got rid of the jasmine.

Too funny! I look forward to watching the rising count as the season progresses.

We had doves which use to nest in our transom on the second floor balcony in York. We loved it - being able to see the little ones pop up their heads. Of course, it was a door which we could just not use for a while.
