Animal Kingdom (and MK)

On Monday we decided not to head to Magic Kingdom first (as most folks would) but headed to Animal Kingdom instead. There was a misty rain for a short while but never enough that we needed our ponchos (which is good since we left them back at the resort). I think Monday was the day we met the most characters since the lines were short; we opted to focus on rides and shows for the majority of our holiday. We were there from opening Early Magic hours until 2pm or so.... we then headed off property for a late lunch/early dinner and then went to Mass at the Shrine for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.

But the night didn't end with Mass because it was late night Magic Hours at the Magic Kingdom so we headed back there for a few hours. It was not crowded so we were able to hit a number of rides in a short time including Splash Mountain (figured if we got wet it didn't matter since we'd be heading back to the resort shortly). On our way out of the park we stopped on Main Street for Tollhouse cookies - always a delicious way to end the day.
